What is housing Stabilization ?

Minnesota Department of Human Services has launched Housing Stabilization Services, a brand-new housing program for all qualified Minnesotans. The service is meant to provide people with disabilities with the person-centered support they need to succeed in their housing pursuits, whether that means relocating across the street, across the state, or even seeking resources to help prevent homelessness.

Who is eligible ?

According to the Department of Human Services, a person must meet the following criteria:
- Be eligible for Medical Assistance (MA).
- Be at least 18 years.
- Have a documented disability or chronic illness.

Do I need a waiver to access housing stabilization services?

No. Housing stabilization services are available to people with disabilities who are eligible for Medical Assistance (MA) and meet other eligibility criteria.

Does Housing stabilization services pay rent, utilities or household expenses ?

There are three specific housing stabilization services:
- Housing consultation helps you plan for housing based on your wants and needs.
